Dr Ashley V. Austin MD

Dr. Ashley V. Austin is an accomplished individual who excelled academically and athletically, graduating cum laude from the University of Evansville while being a standout Division I basketball player, recognized for her offensive and defensive skills. After a gap year exploring the globe, she was accepted into the Medical College of Georgia at the University of Georgia, earning her Doctor of Medicine in 2014. Dr. Austin's medical training included a year in general and trauma surgery at the Montefiore and Jacobi Medical Centers in New York, followed by a shift towards primary care sports medicine. She completed her family medicine residency at the University of Virginia, where she was named chief resident, and a fellowship in primary care sports medicine at the University of Washington, Seattle. Continuing her career at the University of Washington, Dr. Austin has made significant contributions as an Assistant Professor, training future healthcare professionals and leading as Co-Director of Musculoskeletal Anatomy and Physiology and Faculty Liaison for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in Family Medicine. Her extensive experience in sports medicine covers various levels, from high school to professional sports including the WNBA and MLB. Beyond her professional endeavors, Dr. Austin is passionate about high-altitude mountaineering, hiking, playing tennis, basketball, soccer, snowboarding, surfing, reflective writing, and engaging in home improvement projects.
